Biography

Born in Ankara in 1957. Graduated from Ankara TED College in 1974 and completed training in Ankara University Medical School in 1980. He certified as a specialist in Internal Medicine in 1985 and in Hematology in 1991. He is still working as a Professor of Hematology in Ankara University Medical School. He was one of the founder members of Medical Informatics Society, Febrile Neutropenia Society and Telemedicine and Medical Education Society and the president of Turkish Clinical Research Association. He has various GCP certificates in Turkey and also was a certified clinical researcher from ACRP. After working part time for a brief period of time in a private, he became a member of the Central Ethical Committee in MoH and now serves as an ethical committee member in Başkent University. He is also the editor of the GCP Journal in Turkey and published several books on Clinical Trials.

He is working as a primary investigator in clinical trials organized by international groups such as EORTC, EBMT and pharmaceutical companies. He is the head of the Clinical Trials

Unit in Ankara University Medical School Department of Hematology. His main area o  interest is infections in cancer patients and has more than 90 papers indexed in main indexes. He has a book on “Coffee and Health” and has a web page “www.kahve.gen.tr” on Coffee.
